About Kate
I have been teaching for over 20 years to students of all ages. I lead in the water surf classes during the summer months, and have been a surf instructor for over 6 years. Many of my clients are regulars as they find I have a gift with body mechanics and helping them move through potential blocks. I have been facilitating online classes since 2020 and found it to be an exceptional tool on one's surf journey.

There's a lot we can do to prepare for our time in the ocean. So much of how we perform depends on our knowledge and skills acquired before we enter the water.
Lessons topics include but are not limited to wave science, wave reading, surf etiquette, understanding new breaks, pop-ups, strength training, and breath work.
With over 20 years of surf experience, a major in ocean conservation, and 25 years of swim instruction/ lifeguarding; I have a deep understanding of how water works and how to share this information in an engaging way with students.
Classes will be geared towards a specific topic but also will cater to the needs of the individual, wherever they are at on their surfing journey.
