About Fiona

I am a passionate flute tutor with 6 years of experience teaching High School, College, and adult students. Over the years, I have taught 150-200 students, helping them develop technical skills, confidence, and a genuine love for music. My lessons are personalised, interactive, and designed to make learning both fun and effective.

One of my most rewarding experiences was guiding a beginner student through their first recital. With encouragement, structured practice, and creative exercises, they performed beautifully and gained self-confidence. I focus on helping students enjoy their musical journey while achieving milestones and developing a lifelong passion for the flute.

About the lesson

My flute teaching methodology focuses on clarity, creativity, and practical learning. I use real-life examples and case studies to connect theory with performance, making lessons meaningful, easy to understand, and applicable. I emphasise motivation, encouraging students to stay curious, confident, and committed to their practice.

I integrate problem-solving in every lesson, helping students overcome technical and musical challenges while fostering independence and skill. Integrity is central to my teaching, promoting discipline, honesty, and respect for music. I maintain flexibility, adapting lessons to each student’s pace, abilities, and goals.

Besides flute, I provide instruction in music theory and fundamentals to give students a complete foundation. My goal is to make every lesson productive, engaging, and enjoyable, helping students grow creatively, technically, and personally.
