About Casey
I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Chemical Engineering at Colorado School of Mines and have five years of tutoring experience. My research in sustainable catalysis gave me deep insights into bridging bench work with theoretical frameworks. We’ll begin by unraveling organic chemistry reaction mechanisms—nucleophilic substitutions, stereochemistry, and spectroscopy interpretation—then apply chemical engineering fundamentals (mass/energy balances, reactor sizing, process optimization) through MATLAB and Python modeling. Next, we dive into electro-chemistry (Nernst equation, galvanic vs. electrolytic cells, battery tech) and conclude with biochemistry (enzyme kinetics, metabolic pathways) using virtual‐lab simulations (ChemCollective) and 3D molecular modeling (Avogadro). Each topic is paired with real‐world case studies—like designing eco‐friendly reactors or analyzing cellular respiration—reinforcing concept mastery with hands‐on exercises.
