About Krïstoff

I am currently the Principal Bassoon of the Monroe Symphony as well as a freelance bassoonist and private teacher. I love to help students master their instrument while cultivating a musician's mindset. My approach develops technical excellence alongside the critical thinking and creative perspective that foster success both on and off the stage.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy centers on the idea that music is a language; my goal is to help you achieve fluency through lessons tailored specifically to your unique learning style. While I provide the structural framework, I am most excited to work with curious students who are eager to explore the instrument. I love helping those who take initiative—students who enjoy experimenting and bringing their own discoveries to our sessions. My aim is to help you build the essential skill sets needed to tackle challenges with confidence, fostering a deep-seated independence that translates far beyond the practice room.

Beyond the Lesson Your growth is supported by a comprehensive, personalized digital infrastructure:

1) You will receive a private online folder containing your lesson notes, detailed feedback, and an extensive library of my own resources, including custom-designed fingering charts, pedagogical materials, and specialized guidance on reed-making and equipment maintenance.
2) I love when students reach out with questions throughout the week! I encourage regular, ongoing communication to ensure you always have the guidance you need to keep progressing.
3) You are invited to participate in our recurring virtual studio classes, offering a unique space to perform, collaborate, and learn alongside your fellow students in a supportive, community-driven environment.

My commitment to your success extends beyond the practice room. As an active performer with regional orchestras like the Shreveport and Monroe Symphonies, I bring real-world professional insights into our sessions, helping you master both the instrument and the complexities of the music industry. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player preparing for conservatory auditions, I provide dedicated guidance on navigating collegiate music studies—from identifying the right universities and connecting you with top-tier studios to developing the repertoire and audition strategies necessary to secure competitive music scholarships. Together, we will help you navigate the nuances of the bassoon with clarity, expertise, and a truly musician-centered perspective.

Perfect! My son had an amazing free Bassoon lesson few days ago, Krïstoff was very good at communicate with kids, and shared so many smart tips. My boy likes him very much, unfortunately we could not continue as time zone different and hard to find right time for long-term lesson. Maggie's son Wesley was absolute joy to work with! I was very impressed by not only his energy but his level of enthusiasm when it came to learning. Wesley shows a lot of natural talent and he makes sure to keep the lessons interesting by showing me his favorite songs as well as his cat
