About Jenna

Hello, I’m Jenna, a South African university psychology tutor originally from Johannesburg, with 10 years of teaching experience and an academic background in psychology and neuroscience.

I graduated summa cum laude and as valedictorian of my BA in Psychology at Reichman University, achieving a final average of 99% and receiving the President’s Award. I later completed an MSc in Neuroscience at Bar-Ilan University with a 97% average, graduating magna cum laude. I have also worked as a university teaching assistant for Cognitive Processes and have extensive experience teaching psychology students privately, in small groups and through intensive exam-preparation courses.

I teach because I genuinely enjoy finding the explanation that makes a difficult concept finally click. Many capable students struggle because material is presented too quickly or abstractly—not because they lack ability. My academic and teaching experience enables me to explain both theoretical subjects and quantitative topics such as statistics and research methods clearly, patiently and accurately.

My aim is to help every student feel comfortable asking questions, understand the reasoning behind the material and develop the confidence to succeed independently.

About the lesson

My goal is to turn difficult psychology topics into clear, logical steps that you can understand, apply and remember. My teaching style combines strong academic knowledge with simple, student-friendly explanations, relatable examples and guided practice.

Every online lesson is personalised to your university module, learning style and goals. I tutor undergraduate psychology students in statistics, probability, research methods, JASP, cognitive psychology, biological psychology and neuroscience, and personality theories. I can help you understand confusing lectures, strengthen foundational knowledge, prepare for exams, practise past-paper questions and approach research reports with greater confidence.

During a typical lesson, we first identify exactly where you are struggling. I then explain the concept from the foundations using diagrams, concrete examples and step-by-step reasoning before we apply it to practice questions together. I check your understanding throughout, ensuring that you can explain and use the material independently rather than simply memorising it.

Lessons are taught in English and are suitable for first-year through advanced undergraduate students. My sessions are structured, supportive and interactive, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions without judgement—particularly for students who feel overwhelmed by statistics or research methods.
