About Lara

Bonjour! I’m a passionate language educator with a degree in Translation and Interpreting of English and French into Spanish from the University of Salamanca. Having lived in Switzerland, the UK, and now Australia, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the nuances of language and culture, which I love to share with my students. As a teacher, I specialize in French and Spanish, using a communicative approach that emphasizes real-life conversations. I create a supportive and engaging environment where you can practice speaking confidently. I understand that many learners face challenges, whether it's feeling overwhelmed by grammar rules, struggling with pronunciation, or lacking confidence in making mistakes. I’m here to help you navigate these hurdles and enjoy the learning process. Outside of teaching, I’m passionate about traveling, diving, reading, and exploring the great outdoors. These interests enrich my understanding of different cultures and enhance my teaching, allowing me to bring authentic experiences into the classroom. With over four years of tutoring experience, I’ve seen how consistent practice and a positive mindset can lead to significant progress. I’m excited to share my love for languages with you and help you transform your learning challenges into achievements!

About the lesson

My French lessons stand out because of my proven results with students who have been learning with me for many months and are absolutely delighted with their progress. My 1-hour lessons are carefully structured to help you get into the "French mindset," build confidence, and steadily improve your skills. I specialize in students with some notions of French and basic grammar/vocabulary, allowing us to practice speaking effectively. However, I am also able to assist beginners who are just starting their journey. Whether you're preparing for the DELF or DALF exams, enhancing your French for travel, or simply learning for fun, each lesson is designed to be engaging and effective. I focus on a communicative approach, emphasizing real-life conversations through roleplays and spontaneous dialogues to practice scenarios like ordering in a restaurant or navigating everyday conversations. I also bring cultural elements into lessons with songs and authentic materials when the level allows it. My students consistently leave positive reviews, and I’m happy to provide more references upon request. Several students started lessons with me this year and as I tutor them weekly, I can confidently say my methods work—and I’d love to help you achieve your French learning goals, too!
