About Martin
I started teaching English as a foreign language in 2005 whilst i was living in Jaen in Spain. I worked for an Academy teaching Young Learners and Teenagers. In 2006 I completed the i-i TEFL Certificate as well as the Certificate in Teaching Business English and Teaching Young Learners Certificate.
During this time I also completed courses with Cambridge in order to prepare students for the Cambridge exams.
In 2008 I set up my own English academy where I acted a Director, Director of Studies and teacher where I worked with students of all ages and all levels.
In addition, from the years 2006 to 2012 I worked for Stafford House Study Holidays as a Centre Director of study centres for up to 300 students from different nationalities.
In 2013 I opened another academy, English Club Igualada´´ in the province of Barcelona. In this establishment I again worked a Director of Studies and teacher and also completed training to be an examiner for Cambridge. In my spare time I worked for Cambridge as a Speaking Examiner (FIRST B2 exams and ADVANCED C1 exams).
Since the pandemic I have decided to focus on online teaching. I currently teach some of my existing students online.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching. It gives me immense pleasure to see the progression of my students. I am an active person, keen to develop my own skills. I recently became a Certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher which I believe enables me to provide extra support to my students during these difficult times.

My teaching philosophy is to make each lesson as interactive as possible. I believe that an interactive class is more memorable.
I believe that every class and every student is unique, so my aim is to meet your individual needs as a student.
I have 16 years of teaching experience with young learners, teens and adults of all levels.
