You’ve probably heard one or more students say “I’m not a math person.” Some may have had experiences that made them dislike math. Yet, we know that a strong foundation in math is important for all students.
I focus on evidence-based math instruction mainly the explicit instruction with cumulative practice and Schema-based instruction.
My teaching method is using slides or notes which simplify the important points or topics, followed up with some examples and exercises to keep track of students' understanding during the lesson. I will also provide a mini homework, just to make sure students remember what they have learnt during past periods of lessons
However I will tailor my teaching method based on the students' needs as different students have different strengths and weaknesses.
