About Delisha

Hello! My name is Delisha and I am an incoming first year Medicine student at UEA. I achieved a grade 9 in my biology GCSEs and an A* at A-Levels, alongside an A in maths and chemistry.

I have a passion for helping younger students in challenging topics. Having experienced the hardships of GCSEs, I understand the pressure the student is going through and also how valuable it is to build a positive relationship with the student, so they can feel supported throughout stressful times.

In addition to previously tutoring a Year 11 student, I also helped coach children in badminton, which has thoroughly helped me develop the ability to adapt my communication style to different ages and abilities. I believe these skills are directly transferable to tutoring where I can tailor my lessons to each individual’s needs.

About the lesson

My biology lessons are tailored to individual needs. I will ensure that I find a suitable teaching method, and help them build the confidence and understanding through explaining challenging concepts, going through exam-styled questions and perfecting exam technique.

A typical lesson would be 1 hour long, however I can adapt this based on the student’s needs.

I have previously tutored a Year 11 student in biology, helping them achieve a grade 9 in their GCSEs.

My sessions are aimed at GCSE students (Year 10-11), but I can also support younger students who want a head start in their GCSE biology journey so they feel well prepared.
