About TRISHA

I started out as a teacher and spent seven years in secondary schools teaching ICT and Maths. I loved the job but eventually moved into data analytics, spending the last ten years working for organisations like the NHS, Network Rail, and Coventry Building Society.

Earlier this year I was made redundant and honestly it gave me a moment to stop and think about what I actually enjoy doing. The answer kept coming back to teaching. Not because I have to, but because helping someone understand something they thought was beyond them is genuinely one of the most satisfying things I know how to do.

So here I am. I bring both sides with me — the teaching background that means I know how to explain things clearly and patiently, and the industry experience that means what I teach is grounded in how things actually work in the real world.

I work with adults, professionals, and students. I am not here to rush through a syllabus. I am here to make sure you actually get it.

About the lesson

If Maths has always felt like a struggle, you are not alone and it does not have to stay that way.

I have been teaching Maths for years and the students I work with most are adults who need to pass Functional Skills for a job, an apprenticeship, or a career change — and who often come to me feeling like Maths just is not for them. That is usually the first thing we sort out together.

I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE and seven years of classroom experience. I have worked with all kinds of learners — people who left school without qualifications, people who tried the exam before and did not pass, people who just need someone to explain things in a way that finally makes sense. I take the time to understand where you are before I do anything else.

There is no rushing in my sessions. We go at your pace, work through the topics that actually come up in your exam, and I do not move on until you feel genuinely confident — not just nodding along.

I know the Functional Skills exams well across Edexcel, City and Guilds, and NCFE. So rather than covering everything and hoping for the best, we focus on exactly what you need.

Lessons are online so there is no travelling involved — just log on from wherever you are, whether that is after work, in the evening, or at the weekend. Whatever fits around your life.
