About Catia
I have an undergrad in humanities from 2022 and am OCT certified as of 2024. I can teach from K-6, but can tutor K-12 depending on the subject area. I also have my drama intermediate division and can teach drama until grade 10. Subject areas: Language, Math, Religion, Science, Drama (Intermediate). At least 5 years of educational experience in daycare and school settings. I can tutor at home within the region of King City and online! At home rate $45 an hour, and $40/hr for online. As an educator I am very patient. I like to create a mixture of school work, and interactive games and activities. Finding a balance is important for students to excel.
That being said, a typical lesson will start off with a warm up activity this can be a game, or a small worksheet. This all depends on the age of the student. I find using games will help students to focus better in the lesson. Then I will then go on to the first task of homework, and once that is done we can go onto another game. The student can then work on another homework task if they have one, or we can work on other activities to strengthen the students in some subject areas.
Students can also work towards a small reward within each session. This can be a few minutes of free time at the end, or an interactive drawing, or something else they would like to do.
Finally, I also will inform parents of a recap of the lesson via email, and send a reminder email about the sessions they have next.
