About Jasmine

Hi! I’m Jasmine, an NYU graduate with a B.A. in Museum Studies and a minor in Art History. My background is in museums and the arts, where I’ve worked on exhibitions, conducted curatorial and historical research, and developed writing for a range of audiences.

I offer tutoring in art history, humanities research, and academic writing. I especially enjoy helping students take a broad interest or idea and turn it into a focused research question, find and work with sources, develop an argument, and communicate their ideas clearly. I can also help with essays, research papers, presentations, and other humanities-based projects.

My approach is conversational and tailored to each student. Rather than simply giving you answers, I want to help you strengthen your own research, writing, and critical thinking skills. Whether you’re working through a class assignment, developing a larger independent research project, or simply want to learn more about art, history, and museums, I’m happy to meet you where you are and work toward your goals.

About the lesson

I approach art history and the humanities as more than memorizing names, dates, and events. My lessons focus on understanding the larger stories, ideas, and cultural contexts behind what we’re studying and helping students make connections across art, history, culture, and society.

As an NYU graduate with a B.A. in Museum Studies and a minor in Art History, I bring both an academic background and professional experience in museums, exhibitions, and curatorial research to my teaching.

What I Can Help With --

Research & Writing: I can help you develop a research question, find and evaluate sources, organize your ideas, build a strong argument, and strengthen your academic writing. I’m also happy to work with students on longer-term research papers and independent projects.

Art History & Humanities: Whether you’re working through coursework, preparing for an exam, writing an essay, or exploring a subject independently, lessons can be shaped around what you’re studying and where you need support.

Personalized Lessons: Every student works differently, so I tailor sessions to your goals. We might spend one lesson discussing readings and another outlining a paper, reviewing a draft, or working through research together.

Real-World Perspective: My experience in curatorial research, exhibition planning, and museums allows me to bring examples from outside the classroom into our conversations, particularly for students interested in art history, museums, and the broader art world.

My goal is to help students become more confident researchers, writers, and critical thinkers while making the subjects we’re studying genuinely interesting.
