About Olivia
Hi! My name is Olivia and I am a student at New York University majoring in biochemistry and minoring in math. I love helping my students improve important life skills like critical thinking and problem solving, things that can be improved simply by studying math! I've been tutoring for about 2 years through a non-profit, student-run tutoring organization that offers free tutoring to low-income students; I started during COVID to help ease the additional difficulties created by online learning.
I love to play guitar and piano and am a big fan of Big Theif, Simon and Garfunkel, and Led Zeppelin. I also love to climb and ride my bike around Manhattan, as well as try new restaurants with my friends.

I tend to work best with students anywhere from 1st to 12th grade. I help my students by going through their homework to see what they're focusing on in school, then building off of that through my own knowledge and use of their resources. I like to go with the flow of the student, as well, so that they feel like what they're learning matters. A typical lesson plan will consist of reviewing homework (either assigned by me or their school teacher) and going over worksets. Although, lessons are very dependent on the student and the type of learner they are.
