About Adan
I scored in the top 0.02% of exam candidates in both my GCSEs and SAT, earning twelve grade 9s and a 1580, and was predicted four A*s at A-level. Having just taken my A-levels this summer, I am confident I have met those grades. However, I don’t consider myself exceptionally smart — exams often test strategy and technique more than raw intelligence. Understanding this has helped me succeed, and I want to help other students do the same. I’m happy to discuss concepts in depth to ensure real understanding, which naturally improves exam performance, but I also focus on efficient methods to help you approach your exams with confidence and achieve the best possible results. I firmly believe that anyone can get an A* in philosophy. I will provide you with notes that, if learnt, will ensure that you are able to take the exam on autopilot, regurgitating what you've learnt and confident of surpassing the 80% grade boundary.

I have been tutoring for over two years now. As a student myself, I understand how teachers can sometimes misjudge what a pupil truly needs: they may spend too long explaining simple concepts in a way that feels patronising, or they might gloss over more challenging topics that actually require careful attention. Being a student allows me to move through topics more efficiently with my tutees, focusing on what really helps them progress. In my experience, hour-long lessons tend to be the most effective. I also find it helpful when tutees let me know in advance what they want to cover, so I can prepare and make the most of our time together.

I have known Adan for five years at school. He is one of the nicest people I know; always incredibly patient and understanding. He really knows his stuff and can make tricky topics seem like a piece of cake when he explains them.
