About Xitlali
Hi! My name is Xitlali, and I’m a current USC student studying neuroscience. I have experience working with children through tutoring, babysitting, mentoring, and volunteering, and I really enjoy helping students feel more confident in their abilities.
I offer math tutoring for students from elementary school through high school. My goal is not only to help students understand the material, but also to make math feel less intimidating and more manageable. I’m patient and encouraging, and I like to explain concepts in different ways depending on how each student learns best.
Whether your child needs help with homework, wants to strengthen their foundation in math, or needs extra preparation for an upcoming test, I’m happy to work with them at their own pace. I want students to leave each session feeling more confident and comfortable with the material.

I lead with patience and passion to help students feel comfortable and safe in the learning process. I understand how daunting math can be, and I want to help students feel confident tackling whatever problem they come across. A typical lesson plan with me looks like reviewing what was learned in class before diving into specific lessons the student wants to grow in. I believe in starting with a general review/lesson of the current topic they are learning, and then personalizing the session to the student's needs. Working through practice problems, learning how to take notes, and having the student try to teach the lesson back are all methods I believe will help a student truly learn.
