About Kay

You don't need to be perfect, you just need to come as you are! My specialized training does not only engulf teaching methodologies, writing, and innovative e-learning design, I am also a certified coach specializing in Mindfulness, Trauma, Somatic Movement, and Self-Compassion. Whatever your block to learning is, we can handle it!

I'm more than just an English and writing tutor; I'm your creative companion and learning guide. I'll help you unlock your unique voice and navigate the world of language with confidence, whether you're a native speaker or a learner of English.

My coaching approach goes beyond mechanics. We'll delve into the psychology of writing, unlocking your creative potential. We'll explore techniques rooted in mindfulness and trauma-informed practices to foster confident expression for English language learners, aspiring writers, and professionals with writer's block.

As a published author, essayist, and screenwriter with experience crafting compelling narratives for a celebrated Canadian TV show, I understand the writing journey. I've also honed my skills through 5+ years of coaching writers of all levels, and 10+ years teaching English as a Second Language.

Mindfulness & Creativity: Writing exercises, visualization, and journaling to spark creativity and develop your authentic voice.

Trauma-Informed Practices: Create a safe and supportive learning environment for everyone.

Our first session is offered for free, we'll meet and do some exercises, learn about your blocks, challenges, and superpowers. Know more about your learning style, what keeps you motivated, and what your strategic goals are.

A Typical Lesson Plan (Flexible and Customized):

- Warm-up: Engaging in mindful activities to get your creative juices flowing.
- Review: Briefly revisit key concepts from the previous session.
- New Material: Introduce new skills or concepts through discussion, examples, or exercises tailored to your goals.
- Practice: Apply new skills through exercises relevant to your chosen area (English language drills, story prompts, essay outlines, cover letter templates, creative writing challenges).
- Feedback & Discussion: Receive personalized feedback and discuss the writing process in a supportive environment.
- Homework: Fun and compelling exercises to solidify new skills and prepare for the next session.
