About Winsen

I know firsthand what it’s like to struggle in school. Up until Year 10, I found myself falling behind, unsure if I’d ever catch up. Everything changed when I met a teacher who believed in me. They didn’t just teach me the subjects. They showed me how to learn, how to trust in my own potential, and how to push past obstacles. With their guidance, I transformed my academic path, going from barely getting by to thriving. I uncovered a passion for learning I never knew I had. As your tutor, I bring that same understanding and encouragement to every lesson. I’ve been in your shoes, and I’m here to help you overcome your challenges, build confidence, and succeed. My goal is to make learning not just manageable but enjoyable, proving that with the right support, you can change your trajectory too.

About the lesson

My tutoring sessions are all about helping students uncover where they’re stumbling and why, then guiding them to a deeper understanding of the material. I don’t just focus on cramming for exams. Instead, I use creative, patient, and tailored teaching methods to make concepts click for students who find traditional approaches tough. As a neurodivergent tutor with ADHD and dyslexia, I know firsthand how learning can feel challenging. I’m passionate about creating a calm, supportive space where students can grow at their own pace. Teaching Methodology: I take a hands-on, personalised approach, breaking down problems step-by-step and encouraging students to learn from their mistakes. My goal is to spark curiosity and build confidence using methods that adapt to how each student thinks. Typical Lesson Length: Sessions usually run for 1 to 2 hours, giving us plenty of time to dive into topics and address individual needs without rushing. Qualifications/Experience: Alongside my academic background, my experience as a neurodivergent learner shapes how I teach. I bring empathy and insight to every lesson, making maths more approachable for those who struggle with conventional styles. Who the Lessons Are For: I work with secondary school students aged 13 to 17 and A-level maths students aged 16 to 19. My lessons are especially for those who need a patient, understanding tutor to help them overcome hurdles and build a stronger foundation in maths. I’m here to help students not just get through their studies but also find a way of learning that works for them.
