About Annie

I'm a neuroaffirming psychology, counseling, social work and health science academic coach. I’m passionate about helping students become more confident, independent learners.

I believe there is no one "right" way to study. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching to your individual strengths, learning style and goals. Whether you need help understanding difficult concepts, improving your scientific writing, developing effective study strategies or making sense of tricky concepts, my aim is to help you build skills that last beyond a single exam!

I'm currently completing my Master of Clinical Psychology after graduating with First Class Honors in Psychology (undergraduate average ~90%). I am also an academic at two prominent Victorian universities in the school of psychology. I have years of clinical and social work experience, which I combine with my personal experience of being a mom of two neurodivergent kids.

I also have my own ABN to provide NDIS receipts. Additionally I hold a Working with Children Check, NDIS worker screening and a current First Aid certificate (with CPR).

About the lesson

Exams got you stressed? Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just want to improve your grades, every lesson is tailored to your learning style, brain style, goals and individual strengths, making study more manageable. My goal is to help you become a confident, independent learner while reducing the stress that often comes with study.

A typical session may cover: 
* Understanding Content
* Exam preparation & Responding to task command prompts
* Using scientific skills
* Neurodivergent study coaching and learning strategies 
* Essay planning and academic writing

After each lesson, students are provided with notes of the session with clear actions for the next stage of their independent learning. These notes can be provided to parents where appropriate.

Details

Lessons are typically held online via Zoom, however if you learn best face-to-face, this can be arranged within Melbourne's inner North and North-West areas.
Face-to-face sessions are usually held at a local library. Travel cost is charged at my hourly rate with a minimum of 30 minutes charged.

First lesson is a 30 minute free consult to ensure that we are the right fit for each other and to answer any urgent inquiries, however if you would prefer to go straight into a full 60 minute session, this can be offered at a discounted rate.
