About Amaya
I am a junior at Whitney High School who has taken the most rigorous classes the school has to offer. By the end of my high school career, I am scheduled to complete 11 AP courses specializing in math and science. I speak Spanish at home regularly and enjoy listening to Reggaeton. I am a two-sport varsity athlete in Volleyball and Softball and have played piano for over 7 years.

My lessons are meant for 6-10th graders who are looking for extra support in their accelerated classes. As a Whitney Student, I have learned how to manage multiple rigorous classes while maintaining a 3.8 GPA. My teaching methods are practice-based with a focus on understanding rather than memorization. Patient step-by-step instruction with interactive activities can help advance students past their peers. My lesson plans consist of reviewing practice problems and correcting errors, reviewing difficult material from class and guided practice problems before assigned homework.
