About William
I’m a Durham University graduate with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering and two years of experience working in the engineering industry. I studied Maths, Further Maths, and Physics at A Level, and I’ve always had a strong interest in problem-solving and clear, logical thinking — which is exactly what I try to pass on to my students. I’ve previously tutored GCSE and younger students, and I really enjoy helping them build their confidence and start to feel more in control of their maths. I’m friendly, patient, and always aim to make lessons feel relaxed but focused.

In my lessons, I take things back to basics and move at a pace that suits the student. The first step is always figuring out where any confusion or gaps in understanding might be, then building up from there with clear explanations and plenty of practice. I aim to create a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, even if they think it’s something they “should already know.” Once we’ve built that foundation, I’ll start to challenge them more — not to overwhelm, but to help them push their confidence and skills further.
