About Susanna

Ciao! I'm Susanna, my passport says I am Italian but truth is, once you learn languages, the world has no limits anymore! I grew up speaking Italian and Spanish, and learned English while on school exchange in New Zealand, where I started my first tutoring classes. I continued studying languages at university, and then did a postgraduate diploma in interpretation and translations. For as much as I like speaking the language and translating it, I realized that what I really enjoy is sharing my passion and knowledge with others, helping them achieve their goals. For this reason, I completed a Master of teaching at UTS and have started teaching in public and private schools across Sydney while continuing to tutor adults. Besides languages I am a very active person who likes the beach, riding motorbikes and climbing.. you may hear a lot of examples related to these topics during class!

About the lesson

"Teaching is not achieved if learning doesn't happen".. so classes are shaped on you, your interests and needs in order to provide you with the best strategies to learn the language and achieve your goals! I have been teaching in Australian high school for 5 years, but started tutoring over 10 years ago. I have taught children and adults, from beginners to advanced, and have always received positive feedback from my clients. As a learner and speaker of a foreign language myself, I know the struggle is real. This is why I always try to make it relevant, engaging and to find different ways to explain concepts to make sure they are clear before moving on. I believe grammar is important, and suggest an approach that tackles grammar rules to then develop them through conversation, which in turn facilitates and enhances vocabulary learning. In addition, I use online exercises, videos and texts to delve into specific topics and practice new knowledge. However, as you're the center, I am happy to change methodologies to find the one that best suits your learning and needs. I am flexible with times and lesson length, although I advise them to be at least one hour long. I am happy to have a chat to discuss needs and availability.
