About Laura

Hi, I'm Laura, a native Spanish speaker from Colombia, living in Melbourne for the past 8 years.

I offer conversational and structured Spanish lessons for kids, teens, and adults, online or in person. My Spanish is Colombian (Latin American), and my English is fluent, so lessons are clear and easy to follow no matter your level.

I have a background in architecture and design education, which means I bring structure and creativity to how I teach. I also run my own hands-on learning studio for young children, so if you're looking for a tutor for your kids, I know how to make learning engaging and fun without losing focus.
I can help you with:

Beginner to intermediate Spanish (all ages)

About the lesson

My lessons are practical and conversation-focused from the very first session. I don't believe in memorising long vocabulary lists or sitting through grammar lectures, instead, I use real-life scenarios and guided conversation to help students start speaking with confidence as quickly as possible.

How I teach:
I tailor every lesson to the student. For children, I use play-based activities, repetition games, and storytelling to make the language stick without it feeling like study. For adults, I focus on fluency, natural rhythm, and building the confidence to actually use Spanish in real situations.

Lesson length:
Sessions typically run 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the student's age and focus level. Shorter sessions work well for younger kids.

My background:
I have a background in architecture and design education and have been running my own hands-on learning studio for young children in Melbourne for the past two years. I am a native Colombian Spanish speaker and have been living in Australia for eight years, so I understand exactly what it takes to learn a new language as an adult, and what makes it click for kids.

Who are my lessons for:
Complete beginners through to intermediate level. All ages welcome, though I specialise in young children (ages 3 to 10) and adult conversational learners. Lessons available online or in person in Melbourne's western suburbs.
