About Ester
¡Hola! My name is Ester and I am a Spanish woman who is currently living in French-speaking Switzerland. I studied a bachelor degree in Philosophy and I did a master degree in education and another master in writing in Spanish. I have also been trained in teaching Spanish and I am currently expanding my knowledge in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. I am really passionate about my mother tongue and I love to guide students in their learning.
Regarding languages, I am an intermediete level French speaker and advance level English speaker.

My Spanish lessons have a communicative approach. The objective is to give the student the necessary tools to cope with real communication situations with spanish speakers. We will work on texts, audios and images from which conversations will emerge naturally in Spanish. Through communication, the student will induce the rules of Spanish and widen their vocabulary.
I take a cognitive approach to explain grammar, meaning that I encourge the students to think about why we use one or another structure in Spanish communication. In this way, the student won't need to memorize those long lists of cases and exceptions that are usually found in books with a more traditional approach. The goal of this method is that grammar becomes little by little more intuitive and meaningful and that it ceases to be conceived as an abstract and foreign thing.
