About Laura

I am a creative, dedicated, and passionate educator who truly enjoys helping students grow both academically and personally. I believe that every learner has the potential to succeed when they feel supported, motivated, and understood.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing my students gain confidence and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach. Whether it's a child saying their first complete sentence in Spanish or a student becoming more confident at school, I love celebrating every milestone with them.

I am committed to creating a positive, encouraging, and respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. At the same time, I maintain high expectations and work hard to help each student reach their full potential.

My combination of professional teaching qualifications, experience in Spanish immersion schools, and years of private tutoring allows me to offer lessons that are both engaging and effective. I don't just teach Spanish—I help students develop confidence, curiosity, and a genuine enjoyment of learning.

About the lesson

I believe that learning a language should be engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable. My teaching approach is student-centered, meaning that every lesson is adapted to each student's age, level, interests, and goals.

I use a variety of teaching techniques to keep students motivated and actively involved in the learning process. My lessons incorporate games, interactive activities, conversation practice, storytelling, role-playing, and topics that genuinely interest each learner. I also use positive reinforcement and motivational systems to build confidence and encourage consistent progress.

A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous content, followed by the introduction of new vocabulary or language structures through interactive activities. Students then practice what they have learned through conversation, games, reading, writing, or real-life situations. I finish each lesson with a short review and, when appropriate, provide optional practice to reinforce learning between sessions.

Because I am a licensed teacher with a degree in Education and specialized training in teaching English as a foreign language, I understand how languages are acquired and can anticipate the challenges English-speaking students often face when learning Spanish. My experience teaching in Spanish immersion schools in Minnesota has given me practical strategies to make language learning natural, accessible, and effective.

My lessons are suitable for children, bilingual students, and adults at beginner and intermediate levels.
