About Lili

I am Paula, but everyone knows me as Lili since I was a child. My older sister started calling me ‘Paulili’ when she was 7 and Lili became my nickname for all my friends and family. Hopefully, I will consider you part of them too.  I’m 27 years old and I’m from a small city in the north of Spain. I consider my hometown extremely beautiful. It has a lot of historical buildings, monuments, and very interesting places to visit. For me, the only bad thing about it is that the winters there are very cold, and the nearest beach is quite far away from the city, but apart from that, I consider it the perfect place to grow up since it is very quiet and there are plenty of good people living there. Moreover, there is a great tradition of tapas which is free food that the bar offers you when you order a drink honoring the saying: “the best things in life are free” which reminds me of another version of the proverb that says: “ the best things in life are not things” and I think that is very true.  Another aspect of myself is that, as you can see, I love proverbs, I think they are very wise and useful and since I have always been interested in languages and cultures, I consider them the best representation of both. When I was 17 years old, I moved to the capital of Spain to study the degree in Modern languages and translation and I learned how to translate Portuguese, German and English into Spanish. But the most relevant thing that I accomplished there was the publication of a short book of poems that I wrote when I was there. I love writing, but not only poems I also write children’s stories and short narratives, mostly of fantasy. I learned a lot about that genre when I was attending a master’s degree in translation and interculturality in Seville, after finishing my studies in Madrid. Since then, I am the storyteller of every birthday party of the children that I babysit.  Regarding that big part of my life, I would like to mention that I have a lot of experience teaching. I have been working as a Spanish teacher from 2015 to 2020 in several Spanish schools. My students’ ages range from 3 years old to 12, although in 2021 I was working at a high school for teenagers from 13 years old to 17. I always wanted to be a translator but after working in that field when I finished my degree, I realized that my dream job was to teach.  I consider myself a responsible, nice, really patient, and empathic person. But the most representative adjective about me I think is “dynamic” because I love to use my time effectively and spend it doing a lot of things. Right now, I am learning to play the guitar and I am part of a theatre local group.  All my best

About the lesson

I am a passionate educator who believes that learning Spanish should be fun and engaging, and I incorporate a variety of teaching methods and technologies to ensure that my students not only learn the language but also develop a love for it. I integrate in my lessons:
