About Isabel

My name is Isabel Lopez. I am a Junior student at Clemson University majoring in Psychology and Criminal Justice. I graduated from Riverside High School in Greenville, South Carolina. I initially planned on taking Spanish in high school as an easy A, since I grew up with Spanish being my first language, since I am Mexican American. I had to take a placement test and due to scoring a perfect score, I had to take French instead. I mainly speak Spanish at home because of my parents, and when I was younger, I only knew how to write, speak, and write in Spanish and I would like to help others improve on their Spanish language proficiency. I have always been very involved academically as well as with extracurriculars, including Math Honors Society, National Honors Society, Science National Honors Society, Music Honors Society, Key Club, French Honors Society, as well as track, cross country, and marching band. I have played flute now for almost nine years. I am involved in the symphony here at Clemson, as well as other organizations and clubs, including Latinos United, and Running Club. I look forward to helping any students I can to perform to the best of their ability and excel in math subjects.

About the lesson

- I like to teach virtually in order to have flexibility with schedules
-I am very flexible with teaching methods, including helping the student find the method that works best for them
-I take a very "try it on your own first" method at first in order to find where the student seems to be stuck and where improvement is needed
-The lessons are for anyone struggling with Spanish
