About Melissa

¡Hola! My name is Melissa, and I’m an artist and native Spanish speaker from Costa Rica currently living in Montréal, Canada. Growing up in a Spanish-speaking country and later learning English myself has given me a deep appreciation for language learning and the opportunities it creates.

I have experience helping others communicate with confidence and understand the importance of adapting my teaching style to each student’s needs. Whether you’re learning Spanish for travel, work, school, or personal interest, I’ll support you with patience, encouragement, and practical lessons that help you use the language in real-life situations.

As someone who has experienced moving to a new country and learning a new language, I understand the challenges students face. My goal is to make every lesson welcoming, interactive, and enjoyable so that you feel comfortable speaking Spanish from the very beginning.

I look forward to helping you achieve your language goals!

About the lesson

Learning a language should feel natural, engaging, and practical. As a native Spanish speaker from Costa Rica who has learned English and is currently learning French, I understand both the challenges and the excitement of becoming multilingual.

My lessons are fully personalized to your goals, whether you want to improve your conversation skills, prepare for a trip, build a strong grammar foundation, or simply become more confident speaking Spanish. I focus on creating a relaxed and supportive environment where making mistakes is part of the learning process.

A typical lesson includes conversation practice, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar explained in a simple way, and activities based on real-life situations. I adapt every lesson to your level and interests so that learning remains enjoyable and motivating.

I teach beginners and intermediate students of all ages, and I’m happy to work with children, university students, professionals, or anyone who wants to connect with the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. My goal is to help you gain confidence and enjoy speaking Spanish from day one!
