About Marcus
I love languages, and besides the 6 I already speak -- in different proficiencies -- I am looking forward to learning other non-Latin-Germanic languages. I want to share all the helpful "shortcuts" I have learned on my own adventure. I had the privilege of working for a telecommunication enterprise for 26 years where I worked with people from around the world - my Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese came very handy. I have been teaching languages for more than 40 years. Initially, as a "digital" nomad, I taught English in Mexico and Guatemala. Then, in Philadelphia, taught Spanish at Inlingua (and occasionally for Berlitz); I also worked as an interpreter Spanish to English in court. I find lots of satisfaction in teaching and the human interaction. I am an avid reader and enjoy watching Sci-Fi shows. I am currently updating my resume to get back to acting; I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG).

My focus is on the speaking language - just like one learns their own language as a child. Utilizing real-life situations in a non-stressful manner, we will pass from the theory to the practical. My mission is to have you expressing yourself in Spanish with the words/phrases you have in your "arsenal". We will continue building up from that base - always encouraging you to progress in a fun and natural way. Once you and I establish your comfort level, the lesson will commence with you listening to a phrase or a passage which you will repeat (imitating my accent), even if you do not understand every word yet. Then I will explain the unknown words, utilizing simpler phrases. We will then dive into pronunciation challenges. At the end, you will read the same phrase(s) with your newly acquired confidence!
