About Hajin

¡Hola! I'm a native Spanish speaker from Guatemala, where I grew up and completed my schooling. Spanish has been part of my everyday life since childhood, so I'm excited to help others learn the language in a natural and practical way.

I'm currently a university student in South Korea, and I understand what it's like to learn and communicate across different languages and cultures. This experience has helped me appreciate how important it is to feel comfortable when learning something new.

I offer Spanish lessons for beginners, travelers, and middle and high school students who need help with their classes or homework. I can also help younger learners discover the casual expressions and slang that native Spanish speakers use in everyday conversations.

Although I'm not a certified teacher, I bring native-level language knowledge, patience, and a personalized approach to every lesson. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace.

About the lesson

My Teaching Methods and Techniques

I personalize my lessons based on each student's goals, level, and learning needs. I offer two main approaches depending on what the student wants to achieve.

1. Homework Support for Middle and High School Students

For students who need help with Spanish homework or school lessons, I focus on identifying exactly what they find difficult rather than simply repeating the material. We work through the areas they struggle with using clear explanations, practical examples, and spaced repetition to help them remember what they've learned over time. My goal is to help students understand the material and feel more confident applying it independently.

2. Conversational Spanish for Beginners and Travelers

For beginners and travelers, I focus on practical Spanish that can be used in everyday life. We start with basic conversations and gradually build the vocabulary and expressions needed for situations such as introducing yourself, ordering food, shopping, asking for directions, and interacting with locals. Lessons are adapted to each student's pace and personal goals.

A Typical Lesson Plan

Each lesson introduces a small set of useful vocabulary words and expressions. Students then practice using them in different sentences and explore real-life situations where those expressions would naturally be used.

At the beginning of the next lesson, we review vocabulary from the previous class to strengthen long-term memory before introducing new material. This spaced-repetition approach helps students gradually build their vocabulary and use it more naturally.

For more advanced learners, lessons focus on conversation. We might discuss what they did during the week, talk about their interests, or act out realistic scenarios. After the conversation, we review mistakes together, work on improving their expressions, and practice more natural ways to communicate.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor

Although I am not a professionally certified teacher, Spanish is my native language, and I grew up and completed my schooling in Guatemala. This has allowed me to develop a natural understanding of how Spanish is used in everyday communication. I speak with a clear, neutral accent that is easy for learners to understand.

My approach is based on learning through communication, similar to how children naturally acquire their first language. Rather than focusing on formal grammar lessons, I emphasize listening, speaking, repetition, and learning through context. I want students to understand and use Spanish naturally, not simply memorize rules.

Who Are My Lessons For?

My lessons are designed for beginner Spanish learners, travelers preparing to visit Spanish-speaking countries, and middle and high school students who need support with their Spanish classes or homework. I also welcome learners who want to improve their conversational skills and feel more confident communicating in everyday situations.

Whether you are starting from zero, preparing for a trip, or trying to improve your grades, I will adapt our lessons to your needs and help you progress at a comfortable pace.

Above all, my goal is to create a relaxed, fun, and welcoming environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and learning at their own pace.
