About Dana
Hi (Привет)! My name is Dana. I am a native Russian speaker and a proficient English speaker who obtained BA and MA degrees in the UK.
I've always been passionate about exploring new cultures, learning new languages as well as teaching my language and culture to others. For 3 years I was employed as a Russian Language Assistant with the Department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex. The main task of my role involved the running of weekly tutorials to 15-20 students, in which I taught Russian grammar and conversation skills to undergraduate students at A1 and A2 proficiency level. As part of my classes, I also taught my students elements of Russian culture and discussed current matters in Russia, always using creative and innovative ways to keep students motivated and interested. I proved to be an engaging communicator and an excellent teacher as my classes were very popular among university students.

Currently I offer online Russian language classes at beginner and post-beginner level. It gives you the opportunity to:
- take up a new language in a very focused, purpose-driven way, concentrating on communicative skills
- increase your language skills so that you can cope with living, studying or working abroad for a short time (while English is still the predominant language)
My online classes are designed to be accompanied by a digital course book and are communicative in nature. This means that there will be games, listening exercises, speaking role-plays, reading, writing and grammar exercises. The lessons are specifically tailored to help you study, travel to or live in another country for a short period of time.
