About Claire

I’m French and have studied and worked all over Europe and beyond (Germany, Ireland, the UK, Serbia, Mali, Nigeria…). After a few years working in the international security sector, I realised that what I loved the most about my job was my ability to speak with people in their own language and understand other cultures by learning new languages. When I moved to the UK years ago, I decided to train as a French and German teacher to share my passion for languages with others and show them how useful it is to speak another language.

About the lesson

I’m a qualified teacher (PGCE and QTS) and I’ve been teaching several years now. I teach: - students from Year 7 to Year 13 so I am up to date with exam specifications and marking. - uni students, whether you study French or economics/business/law/politics and want to do degree-specific French lessons - adults who want to brush up, perfect their skills or start learning French. I have plenty of experience teaching grammar, exam techniques, reading and listening skills, writing and speaking practice, vocabulary learning, culture, etc and will share lots of helpful resources with you, giving you the opportunity to practise at your own pace. I use resources from textbooks approved by the exam boards but also original documents from French newspapers, books or films/videos. During our first free lesson (45 min), we’ll discuss what your goals are, what you need help with and how you learn best. Based on this, I’ll prepare personalised lessons (55 min) for you. We’ll regularly discuss your progress and reassess your learning plan. I look forward to meeting you!
