About Kirakira

Hello! I am Sarah, 37-year-old female teacher. I was born and raised in Nagoya, Japan, (my parents still live there) and I am a true native speaker of Japanese. (I also speak English and Farsi) I have been teaching Japanese and English for over 15 years to learners aged 3–75 in both Japan and the U.S. Teaching language and culture is truly my passion. My students often tell me my lessons are clear, motivating, and help them improve faster than with any other teacher. I’m currently active in both Japan and the U.S., frequently traveling between the two countries. Because I still work with Japanese companies, I can also teach about real-life business communication, modern Japanese society, real estate, and cultural etiquette. I studied Music Engineering in college, and today I also produce videos for companies, introducing audio equipment and music production techniques. My hobby—and creative outlet—is filming and editing videos. I create educational videos that help people learn about both Japanese and American language, culture, and everyday life.

About the lesson

I was born and raised in Japan (Nagoya) and completed my entire education there through high school before continuing college in the U.S.

As a true bilingual instructor fluent in both Japanese and English, I teach not only the language but also the real culture, expressions, and mindset that come only from growing up in Japan.

My lessons are designed to help you speak, read, and write Japanese naturally and confidently. I tailor every session to your personal goals—whether it’s for travel, business, or a deep understanding of Japanese society.

A typical class includes natural conversation, grammar and pronunciation correction, and reading or writing practice using authentic Japanese materials.

I also include topics like Japanese manners, social trends, and real-life expressions that you’ll never find in textbooks.

Lessons are available both online and in-person (in Temecula) for all levels—from complete beginners to advanced speakers.
