About Alexia
Ciao! I'm Alexia, and I can’t wait to guide you on your journey into the Italian language and culture.
I was born and raised in Italy, but my curiosity about the world led me to move to London over a decade ago and to live and study in China. Speaking four languages myself, I know exactly what it takes to dive into a new language. I understand the unique challenges, the moments of doubt, and, above all, the immense satisfaction of finally expressing yourself naturally.
For me, learning a language is so much more than just memorising grammar rules, it is about building deeper connections with people and entirely different cultures. That is exactly what I bring to every single lesson. You won't just learn proper Italian; you will learn the real Italian spoken around the dinner table, at local markets, and over coffee with friends.
When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me talking about food, exploring a new corner of the world, or diving into conversations about culture and identity.
Whether you are learning Italian for travel, career opportunities, or personal relationships, I would love to be part of your journey.

Whether you are a complete beginner starting from zero or an advanced learner looking to perfect your fluency, we will design a tailored path together. I welcome students of all ages and backgrounds who are eager to experience the true Italian language.
My Approach & Methodology
My lessons are completely customised around your specific goals and level. We will use a dynamic mix of:
- Active Conversation: We will talk—a lot—right from our very first lesson. We will focus on real-life scenarios rather than artificial, rigid exercises.
- Authentic Cultural Materials: We will dive into articles, videos, and music. You will experience true modern Italian popular culture, moving far beyond the usual textbook stereotypes.
- A Polyglot’s Perspective: Having learnt several languages myself as an adult, I know firsthand what works, what causes frustration, and how to turn grammar from a daunting obstacle into a practical tool.
Lesson Length
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long—the perfect amount of time to stay focused, practise speaking, and absorb new concepts without feeling overwhelmed. (Note: You can change this to 45 or 90 minutes if you prefer!)
My Experience
- Tutoring & Conversation: I have guided numerous conversation sessions with English speakers here in London, helping them unlock their fluency, overcome shyness, and refine their pronunciation for real-world contexts.
- Teaching Abroad: During my time living in China, I taught English to young children. This immersive experience taught me how to simplify complex concepts and adapt my approach to support absolute beginners.
