About Paola

I'm a young, native Italian teacher. I worked for two years in a high school in Italy and for a year as a tutor, and now live in Montréal. I have a bachelor's degree in Modern Italian Literature and a master's degree in Italian studies. I grew up surrounded by Italian literature and Italian linguistic diversity; my language has been my passion since the very beginning. I use innovative and inclusive teaching methodologies and strongly believe that teaching is a process of exchange where both teacher and student are equals. Teaching is, for me, my life's purpose: my dream is to spread the beauty of the Italian language. My approach aims to ensure that all students, regardless of ability, background or needs, have equal opportunities for learning and participation, to create a learning environment that adapts to diversity and values each student through personalized and flexible learning paths.

About the lesson

Lessons are available to everyone, from those who have no knowledge of Italian to beginners to those who would like to perfect their skills.
I use personalized teaching methods and always adapt them to the student, who is the center of the learning process. Lessons last 1-2 hours, depending on the student's needs. Learning occurs primarily through textbooks, exercises, discussions and conversations with me, reading excerpts, listening to and watching videos and/or film clips.
I am always available to meet the student's needs, for this reason the lessons are very different from student to student. I enjoy using both textbooks and digital methods.
I support my students every step of the learning process. I place great importance on oral production. I care about my students and their learning needs: I believe that teaching is always a wonderful exchange.

She was able to assess my level of learning and create a program accordingly. It’s a wonderful please working with her and I truly appreciate her patience, knowledge and skills. Perfect! It was a great introduction. I felt comfortable and she was very encouraging and attentive to my input. She directed the lesson at my level and this made for an enjoyable experience and I definitely feel optimistic about working together.

Chris è forte! His interest in the Italian language and its grammar drives him to always arrive at class prepared and with new questions. I really like his enthusiasm and curiosity. Chris is able to hold conversations in Italian in everyday situations. I think we immediately connected. The first lesson went good, as the others. We're having fun and learning Italian!
