About Sarah

I am a 24-year old gradute from Italy and Spain (my mom's Spanish and my dad's Italian), thus I am bilingual, native speaker in both languages. I grew up in Northern Italy (near lake Como and lake Maggiore) and graduated in International Relations at Bologna University. I then got accepted at Trinity here in Dublin for a Master in Environmental History.
During my undergrad, I tutored many young students of different ages and schools/levels, from primary to secondary school, to college students too.
I taught different subjects, mainly languages like Spanish and English (specifically grammar, conversation, vocabulary, certification's prep.), but also Italian grammar and literaure, and general school subjects for primary school students.
I'd like to teach Italian to foreign students here in Dublin because I am really passionate about my language and would very much like to help others learning and understanding it in the best and most productive way possibile: whether you're struggling with an exam in school, with a specific topic, or just want to give Italian a go or improve your existing knowledge of it, my aim is to give out a clear, easy and fun teaching, creating a safe space for openly learn new things and improve one's language/conversation skills.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on an individualised teacher-student basis, meaning that my classes are specifically designed toward the student's needs, gaps and expectations. I personally design and make up exercises and give high-quality material from certified books.
My method thus allows me to create a friendly, open and relaxed environemnt where learning is made as simpler and clearer as possible (and also fun as much as possible!).
The ideal lenght for a lesson is 1h30m: I have seen from my experience that this is the perfect time for a productive lesson, during which any issue can be properly discussed and any new topics can be introduced and handled in the right way, but, of course, the final lenght of the lesson is primarily depending on your availability, needs and time!
I am a half Italian and half Spanish, but I grew up in Italy, thus I am a native speaker both in Italian and Spanish (I am in fact bilingual); moreover, while I have an offical DELE certification for Spanish, I don't have any for Italian since I went to school and attended college there, thus my knowledge of the grammar and language doesn't need to be certified as for Spanish.
My lessons are for any level of Italian, whether you're a total beginner or want to advance more on and improve your existing knowledge of the language for personal or working reasons (e.g. level B2 or even C1), I will be delighted to teach you!
