About Oscar
I am a native Hong Kong Cantonese speaker currently based in the UK, with experience in multilingual communication, healthcare interpreting, and one-to-one language tutoring. I speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English fluently, and I enjoy helping students build confidence in real conversational Cantonese rather than relying only on textbook phrases.
My teaching style is patient, practical, and personalised. I understand the common pronunciation and grammar difficulties learners face, especially English speakers and heritage learners wanting to reconnect with Cantonese. I focus on helping students sound more natural, confident, and comfortable using Cantonese in real situations.

My lessons focus on practical Cantonese used in daily life, social situations, travel, and workplace communication. I place strong emphasis on building solid pronunciation foundations first, then gradually expanding vocabulary and sentence structure naturally.
Lessons are personalised depending on the student’s level and goals. I provide Jyutping romanisation support to help with pronunciation and listening accuracy, as well as correction on pronunciation, grammar, and sentence usage. After lessons, I can provide voice recordings for pronunciation review and practice.
I also offer translation exercises, customised materials, quizzes, and structured learning plans to help students improve consistently. Lessons are suitable for beginners to intermediate learners, including students interested in Hong Kong Cantonese, culture, and real conversational usage.
