About Emilia

Hi, I’m Emilia!

I’m a native German speaker living in South East London. While I have a Master’s from Goldsmiths and over a decade of teaching experience, my approach is anything but "old school."

As a performer and vocal coach, I’ve learned to listen closely, and I use that to help you build a natural connection to German pronunciation. We’ll work on the rhythm and flow of your speech so you can stop overthinking and start sounding like yourself, just in German.

I’m a native speaker of both German and Polish, so I’ve spent my life translating "why" things work the way they do. I’m here to make the complex stuff feel simple.

About the lesson

My approach
I don't believe in just following a textbook. Here is how I actually help my students:

Focus on Phonetics: Coming from a vocal coaching and music background, I have a very technical ear for pronunciation. I’m very tuned into pronunciation and can help you with the German sounds people often struggle with.

Natural Conversation: We focus on the flow of the language. My goal is to get you comfortable speaking instinctively rather than overthinking grammar rules.

Professional Context: I’ve co-founded a business and worked in professional environments in London and Germany. I can help with specific needs like interview prep, CVs, or business correspondence.

Growing up bilingual in German and Polish gave me an intuitive understanding of how different language structures work. This helps me explain the logic of German grammar in a way that makes sense to English speakers, rather than just asking you to memorise a list of rules.

Rates & Packages

My standard rate for online lessons is £35/hr. If you prefer to meet in person, the rate is £45/hr to cover travel time and transport within London Zones 1–3.

I love working with students who are looking for consistent progress! To support your long-term language journey, I offer these discounted packages:

5-hour bundle: £166 (Save 5%)
10-hour bundle: £315 (10% discount — one lesson is on me!)

I offer a free 30-minute "Discovery Session" for all new students. This is a relaxed, no-pressure chat where we can get to know each other, assess your current level, and create a roadmap tailored specifically to your goals, whether they are professional, academic, or creative.

A Quick Note on Scheduling: To ensure I can keep my schedule consistent for everyone, I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to reschedule, please just let me know at least a day in advance.
