About Linda

Bonjour tout le monde! Born and raised in France where I taught English in middle and high schools, I've been living in Chicago for a few years now where I switched teaching English to French. My experience ranges from private schools (Independent and Catholics) and private language institutions such as the Alliance Française of Chicago. I'm certified to teach FLE (Français Langue Étrangère) to non-French learners but I also have credentials to help prepare you study for exams such as DELF, DALF or TCF. I'm currently teaching French to College students.I've 18+years of teaching experience and 6 years online. My students range ages from 8 to 75 years old.

French's romantic sound is different from other Romance languages ( i.e Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian). Sounds come from softened consonants, nasal vowels, and unique rhythmic patterns shaped by centuries of history and culture. Exposing yourself to the sounds of the language early on by listening to a native person, podcasts or watching YouTube videos will improve your comprehension level.

French written language is different than spoken and only a native speaker will naturally correct your listening comprehension, pronunciation, and conversational fluency.

About the lesson

One language, spoken in all 5th continents, can connect you to new people, a new culture, a new way of thinking, starting with a simple bonjour. Embrace the opportunity to discover this beautiful language with a native who knows how to teach it and encourage you to use it without fear.

I start with identifying learning goals with you and then I customize lessons based on your individual goals and/ or needs, whether for a test prep, a casual conversation, learning about idioms, formal or slang expressions or simply reading together. Everyone has different approach of learning so I'll use various teaching authentic materials and methods to help you reach them.

I'm also happy to help intermediate students to get back to their skills and regain confidence in themselves especially in speaking. It is hard to keep up speaking a language when you don't have someone to talk to and I understand the frustration. The best way is to stay in touch to what's going on live in the country you maybe interested in and I can find it for you.
