About Laura
Freshly arrived in Canada, I left my home country, France, almost two years ago and I’m now fully immersed in this new bilingual environment. I currently work as a French teaching assistant at a Montessori school and also give private tutoring lessons. I absolutely love teaching my native language and find it incredibly rewarding to share my knowledge with the next generation and support students in mastering French in a natural, enjoyable way.

Depending on the student’s level, my teaching content and expectations will of course differ. For each class, the lessons are tailored to the learner’s level and include a variety of activities such as listening and reading comprehension, reading practice, and interactive exercises. I like to involve the student as much as possible, encouraging them to repeat and actively participate. I usually ask my students to have a notebook and a pencil, because I believe it is important for them to write things down. Writing helps each learner memorize and understand information in a different way, not just through listening. I adapt my approach to each level, each goal, and each individual’s motivation.
