About Mel
My name is Mel, and I am a native French speaker originally from France. I moved to New Zealand in 2018, where I have been living and working in an English-speaking environment, giving me a strong understanding of the challenges of learning a new language. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Arts as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Education Sciences, with training in teaching both adults and children. I am patient, organized, and supportive, and I aim to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident to progress. My goal is to make learning French practical, accessible, and enjoyable.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s level, goals, and learning style. As a native French speaker, I focus on building confidence through a balance of speaking, listening, reading and writing. I use practical, real-life conversations, simple grammar explanations and interactive exercises to make French enjoyable and easy to understand. :)
I have experience helping beginners build strong foundations as well as supporting intermediate learners who want to improve conversation, pronunciation, or grammar.
My classes are suitable for adults and teenagers, whether you are learning French for travel, personal interest, or to reconnect with the language. I am patient, encouraging, and adapt my teaching pace to ensure each student feels comfortable and motivated.
