About Adrian
Hi, I'm Adrian, a second-year Commerce student at the University of Melbourne. I grew up in Mauritius speaking French and Kreole, so French is not something I picked up in a classroom, it's the language I use to think and speak day to day. The same goes for my English, since I studied at an international school where I used it daily, not just in class.
Growing up surrounded by different languages taught me early that fluency is not about where you are from, but rather about exposure and actually using the language, which is part of why I like teaching it now.
I hold an IB Bilingual Diploma in French and English, IGCSE French Language and Literature, and have sat Alliance Française exams. In general, I enjoy teaching people my language in a fun and practical way!

In my lessons, you will not get a random sample of phrases each week and be left hoping something sticks. Instead, the structure I provide is that each lesson connects to the one before it. You see how your French will build on itself steadily instead of starting from scratch every week.
The focus is mainly on:
Logic behind the language and grammar
Real spoken French
Tips on getting your pronunciation right
Lessons run for 1 hour on Zoom, open to beginners, whether you are starting from zero or just want to get more comfortable speaking. You will also get a short recap after each lesson, so you've got something to look back on.
