About Clara

I am a French native speaker who has previously lived in France for 7 years. I am now in my second year of study at a prestigious sixth form in London, currently studying French, economics, maths and geography. For the past 4 years, I have been helping younger students to build their knowledge and understanding of the language. More recently, I have helped students at my school to achieve the best grades possible at GCSE. Being 17, I am very familiar with the new GCSE grading systems and paper formats, as well as being up to date with the greatest teaching techniques that I have seen work for me and people around me. Being in school also means the French department can provide me with books, online exercises, films, exercise booklets and many more.
The reason I love to teach is because I am so proud of my French heritage and background and am eager to share it with others, as I believe being bilingual has helped me in life in so many ways!

About the lesson

As part of teaching French, it is crucial to be interactive with students and get them to speak, not just to write and do grammar exercises. My lessons would consist of grammar, reading and writing booklets, as well as reading books, speaking, and listening exercises ( depending on the level of the student). I am able to provide booklets, and several other online resources as well as reading books. My lessons are from 45 mins long and up to 1 hour 30 mins long, however if you are willing to travel to where I am based, I would be happy to do a 30 min lesson.
In the past, I have taught several young children from years 3-6, and have recently mentored GCSE students to obtain the best grades possible. My lessons are for children from years 3-11. I am not able to teach A level, as I am still doing the course currently, however, I am more than able to teach advanced grammar beyond the GCSE syllabus, and also teach French culture, having lived in Paris for 7 years.
