About Naira Emilie

I am a Native French Speaker, I was born and I grew up in Paris.

Here (in France), I teach English at school, but I lived abroad for a while, and taught French. I have lived and worked in the UK as a French Language assistant, then I moved to California and worked as a French lecturer at UC Irvine.

My favorite subject is conversational French, I majored in phonology, so working on pronunciation, fluency and accents are my specialty. I can coach you through it.

However, I am more than willing to help you with your reading and writing.

About the lesson

Salut à toi!

I like my lessons to be very interactive, however I know that speaking a foreign language (and talking to a native speaker) can be hard and stressful. I am extremely patient and I try my best to keep the class enjoyable and welcoming. I encourage students to keep trying and build up self-confidence so they can become more fluent.

Scared of making a mistake? mispronouncing something? I can relate, mais ce n'est pas grave! I have had to learn English as an adult, you're definitely going to see me struggle with English too, but it's okay.

I am trying my best to make my class a safe space for students to make mistakes and learn from them.

I can teach French language to any level/class/age.

I have taught French in British schools and in American Universities, so I can work with kids, teens, and adults.
