About Hanae

I am a native French speaker with a strong academic background and experience teaching at the University of Alberta as an Assistant Lecturer. I hold a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and I am used to explaining concepts in a clear, structured, and accessible way.

I am also DELF B2 certified, which allows me to effectively prepare students for official French exams such as DELF and TCF, with a clear understanding of their expectations.

I have experience teaching French immersion students, helping them strengthen their grammar, improve their speaking confidence, and succeed in their school curriculum. I understand the specific challenges of immersion programs and adapt my teaching accordingly.

I have successfully supported students with different levels and backgrounds, and I tailor each lesson to ensure they feel comfortable, supported, and confident in their learning.

My priority is to provide professional, organized, and high-quality lessons, where students can progress step by step and see real improvement. I am reliable, patient, and committed to helping my students achieve their goals, whether for school, exams, or personal development.

About the lesson

My French lessons follow a structured and progressive approach based on the CEFR framework (A1 to B2) — the international standard used for DELF and TCF exams.

Whether you are a beginner or preparing for an exam, I adapt each lesson to your level and goals while ensuring clear and measurable progress.

Each lesson can include:

* Grammar explained in a simple and practical way
* Vocabulary building for real-life situations
* Speaking practice to build confidence and fluency
* Listening and comprehension exercises
* Preparation for DELF and TCF (methodology, practice, strategies)

For younger students or school support, I focus on:

* Building strong foundations
* Improving confidence in speaking and understanding
* Helping with homework and school expectations

My teaching style is patient, structured, and encouraging. I make sure students understand deeply rather than memorize, so they can use French naturally and confidently.

I also provide guidance on how to study between lessons, so students can progress faster and become independent in their learning.
