About Chloé

Bonjour! I am a current MSc student in International Relations, Law and Security at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. I moved in Glasgow three years ago to study and work. I was born in Saint-Gaudens, France and completed my BA in Toulouse (Université Toulouse 1 Capitole), graduating with merits.
I've been teaching French for years. I properly started teaching it when I was living in Edinburgh in 2016. I was an au pair back then, and an Irish family hired me to teach French to their children, aged four, seven and eight years old. Because the children were very young, my job consisted of teaching them some vocabulary, some expressions and reading books to them in French, such as Harry Potter.

About the lesson

French is my native language, thus I can teach students at all levels. I accept any French competences and background and I will adapt my lessons depending on your level. My usual method of teaching is divided into three steps: First, I start my classes by focusing on grammar and basic rules. Then, I give vocabulary on a specific topic and go over it with the student. I can also give some texts to read on specific topics. The last part of the lesson focuses on speaking: either discussing the reading, or discussing a specific topic. I personally consider the ability to speak as the most important part of learning a new language. Thus, I will engage in conversation with the student on a specific topic. At the end of the class, I can give recommendations for the students to further improve their level at home. This is my usual teaching technique, but I am willing to adapt it, depending on what the student is looking for, or what he wants to improve.
