About Laia

Originally from France and Spain, I've built my life across five countries — Panama, Chile, Spain, Canada, and France. That restless curiosity about the world is exactly the energy I bring into every lesson.
I'm a McGill University graduate in Political Science and Environment (3.93 GPA, merit-based scholarship recipient), and for the past two years I've had the privilege of teaching students ranging from young children to senior adults — proof that great teaching is about adapting, not just knowing your subject.
Having self-taught English to full fluency, I understand the language learning journey from the inside.
My students describe me as patient, high-energy, and deeply invested in their success. I don't show up to lessons going through the motions — I genuinely love what I do, and that enthusiasm is contagious.
Expect sessions that feel alive, not like a chore.
I teach Spanish, French, and English at all levels, and I also offer academic tutoring for students looking to boost their grades — because I know firsthand what it takes to perform at the highest level.

About the lesson

Learning Spanish isn't about memorizing rules — it's about connecting with people, cultures, and opportunities across the world! That's the philosophy behind every lesson I teach. Having lived in Panama, Chile, and Spain, I can expose you to multiple Spanish accents and regional expressions. My approach is conversation-first: we jump into real dialogue from day one!

Lessons are flexible, engaging, and always moving forward. Here's what a typical lesson looks like:
10-15 min of theory (vocabulary, grammar etc.)
️ Guided conversation practice on topics you care about
️ Light grammar corrections integrated naturally

I always leave a written record of everything you learn in class, and I can provide the material so you can learn at your own pace.
Whether you're starting from scratch, preparing for DELE exams, or just want to finally feel confident speaking — I'll tailor every session to your goals.

These sessions are built around real dialogue, natural expression, and building the confidence to actually use the language. Can include a 20-minute theory warm-up (grammar, vocabulary, a quick concept) at the start if you want structure alongside the practice.

Theory-Focused — $40 CAD
Grammar, vocabulary, writing, and the mechanics of the language — done in a way that's clear, engaging, and actually sticks. Perfect if you want to build a solid foundation before diving into conversation.

Custom Sessions — Price varies
Exam prep (DELE, DELF, TEF, IELTS...), academic support, interview coaching, or anything specific you have in mind — just reach out and we'll build something around your exact goals.
