About Bridie

I have been tutoring part-time for 2 years now, and have experience in one-to-one (in person and online) and group session tutoring.
I worked as a TEFL teacher at a summer school for students aged 13 to 18 years, and my responsibilities included planning and teaching English lessons to a range of levels to classes of approximately 20 students, and leading groups on excursions around UK. This role was an incredibly valuable experience. Teaching English to the company's high standard provided me with the skills and confidence to plan and adapt lessons to suit differing individuals and circumstances. My biggest achievement was seeing how my students' confidence and enjoyment grew throughout the month's teaching programme.

On the back of this experience, I advertised private one-to-one tuition for international students at my university. I tutored one student during my final year of university, and then over Skype when she moved back to China. I thoroughly enjoyed our lessons, and found my teaching skills and confidence improved considerably over the two years of tutoring.

About the lesson

I make sure my students feel comfortable and happy throughout my lessons. It is so much easier to apply yourself and remember what you have learnt in a lesson you have enjoyed! I try to keep the lesson varied and active, with fun activities accompanying the more challenging work.
