About OY
I am a patient, friendly and approachable tutor who enjoys helping students build confidence in Chinese.
I speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin, so I can easily explain things in the language that is most comfortable for each student. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I like to adjust my teaching style according to the student’s level, interests and learning needs.
I am particularly patient when working with beginners and younger learners, and I always try to make lessons relaxed, engaging and easy to understand. My aim is not only to help students learn Chinese, but also to make them feel more confident using it in real-life situations.

I offer tutoring in Mandarin, Cantonese and Chinese vocabulary for students of different ages and levels.
As a Hong Kong local, Cantonese is my native language and I am very fluent in both spoken Cantonese and Mandarin. I have studied and used Mandarin throughout my education, giving me a strong understanding of Chinese pronunciation, vocabulary and everyday communication.
I have previous experience teaching both Cantonese and Mandarin to children in Hong Kong and the UK. I have also worked as a teaching assistant, supporting younger students with their learning and communication skills.
My lessons can be adapted to each student’s level and goals, whether they want to improve their speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, everyday conversation or general confidence in Chinese.
