About Sam

Hi, I’m Sam, a native English teacher from the United Kingdom and the founder of TELL Education.

Over the past few years, I’ve taught students from around the world, including in the UK, India and Thailand, helping learners improve not only their English, but also their confidence when communicating in real-life situations.

My teaching philosophy is simple: English is a language to be used, not just studied. Rather than focusing solely on grammar rules, I help students develop the confidence to speak naturally, understand native speakers and communicate effectively in everyday life, the workplace and professional settings.

I’ve worked with learners of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to advanced professionals preparing for international careers, interviews and presentations. Every lesson is tailored to the individual, with a strong emphasis on practical communication, clear explanations and creating a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.

Whether your goal is to improve your fluency, prepare for an exam such as IELTS, sound more natural in conversation or develop your professional communication skills, I’d be delighted to help you achieve it.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, so I don’t believe there is a single “correct” way to teach. My lessons are designed around you, your goals and the way you learn best.

Compared to a traditional classroom, my approach is much more relaxed and conversational. I believe the best progress comes from building a genuine connection with my students. When you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and simply talking, your confidence grows naturally—and confidence is one of the biggest factors in becoming fluent.

Because of this, every lesson is flexible. If you prefer a structured approach with carefully planned lessons, exercises and clear objectives, I’m more than happy to provide that. Equally, many of my students prefer to spend their lessons having natural conversations, discussing current events, hobbies, work or everyday life. These conversations often become some of the most valuable lessons because they mirror how English is actually used outside the classroom.

The same applies to homework. Some students enjoy having exercises and tasks to complete between lessons, while others prefer to focus entirely on speaking during our sessions. I’m happy to do either—or a combination of both.

Ultimately, my goal isn’t just to help you learn English; it’s to help you feel comfortable using it. Every lesson is tailored to your needs, your pace and your interests, creating an enjoyable environment where learning feels natural rather than stressful.

I think this is a good foundation. One suggestion I’d make is to personalise it even further by mentioning your philosophy of “Teaching English as a Living Language.” That’s something that genuinely distinguishes your approach from many other tutors and ties directly into your TELL Education brand.
