About Melissa

As a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker and a qualified language instructor, I am dedicated to helping you achieve fluency in a way that’s both practical and enjoyable. I hold a degree in Language and have taught students of all levels, tailoring lessons to meet your specific needs. My approach is structured yet flexible, focused on real-world communication and designed to build your confidence. You can expect a professional and supportive learning environment that prioritizes your progress every step of the way.

About the lesson

Teaching Method & Techniques:

I believe in immersive, communicative learning. This means that we’ll focus not only on grammar and vocabulary, but also on how to use Portuguese naturally in real-life situations. I incorporate interactive exercises, role-playing, and games to keep lessons dynamic and engaging. Additionally, I use a mix of multimedia resources like videos, music, and podcasts to expose you to various accents and dialects, helping you understand the language in a broader context.

Typical Lesson Plan:
Each lesson is tailored to your level and goals, but here’s a basic structure:

Warm-up/Review (5-10 minutes): We start with a quick review of previous content or a casual conversation to get you comfortable with speaking.

New Content (20-30 minutes): This includes grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation practice, usually through dialogues or exercises relevant to your interests or needs.

Practice/Interaction (15-20 minutes): We do activities where you actively use the new content, like role plays, problem-solving tasks, or discussions.

Wrap-up (5-10 minutes): I’ll review key points, answer any questions, and give you homework or suggestions for further practice.
